BPM & key finder FAQ

How do I find the BPM of a song?
Drop the song into the tool above. It listens to the kick, mids, and hi-hats separately, builds a tempo curve, and checks it against double, half, and 3:2 variations — so you get the tempo a DJ would tap out, not a doubled or halved misread. Results round to whole BPMs with a confidence score.
How do I find what key a song is in?
The same upload also gives you the musical key. The tool builds a tuning-corrected map of the notes in the song and matches it against three reference key profiles, then reports the key, major or minor mode, and a confidence score.
What is a Camelot code?
The Camelot wheel is a DJ shorthand for musical keys — for example 8A is A minor and 8B is C major. Songs with the same or adjacent codes mix together smoothly, which is why DJs sort their libraries by Camelot code.
Is the detection accurate?
On full, rhythmically clear sections the tempo detection is typically exact, and key detection agrees with pro DJ tools on most tracks. Very quiet intros, acapellas, or heavily swung material can lower confidence — the tool tells you when that happens so you can try a fuller section.
